Ashraful Hossain aka Hero Alam said that he will not go to the elections again under the Awami League government. He was attacked as an independent candidate in Dhaka-17 by-election. He said, if you don't like him, you won't vote. But no one was given the right to kill him.
On Thursday, Hero Alam went to the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police office on Minto Road in the capital and identified the attackers after looking at the pictures. He said this while talking to reporters after coming out of there. He entered the DB office at 3:30 pm today. He came out after about an hour and a half.
After leaving the DB office, Hero Alam told reporters that 16 people who attacked him on June 17 have been arrested by the DB police. He was called to identify whether they were attackers or not. So he went there and identified them.
Hero Alam said, DB chief Haroon Or Rashid assured him that four-five more are left. They will be caught tonight. He was asked to be calm about this. But he (Hiro Alam) felt that the attackers were members of the ruling party, maybe the police would not catch them.
