Many residents of the German capital Berlin and the neighboring state of Brandenburg woke up early Thursday to a warning. This warning is about a wild animal. Witnesses reported seeing the creature in the Kleinmakhov area south of Berlin. Police believe it is a lioness.
Kleinmakhov is 26 kilometers south of the center of Berlin. Police helicopters were seen circling the area. Police cars are also on guard. Apart from this, a unit of the Berlin police has entered the field with various technical equipment to identify the location of the suspected lioness. However, the animal was not found until 6:30 pm local time.
In addition, residents of villages around Klinmakhov have been asked to return to their homes and keep their doors and windows closed. Children are being driven home from day care centers and kindergartens in police cars. The bathing center has been declared closed. A tourist group in Berlin has been banned by police from traveling to the Kleinmakhov area.
