Police have arrested six more people in connection with the attack on independent candidate Ashraful Hossain alias Hero Alam during the by-election of Dhaka-17 constituency.
Deputy Commissioner of Gulshan Division of Police. Shahidullah told Prothom Alo last night that these six people were arrested in connection with the attack on Hero Alam after analyzing the CCTV camera footage. The investigation of the case will be transferred to the Intelligence Division (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Friday.
Seven people were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the attack on Hero Alam. They are Chanoar Kazi (28), Biplab Hossain (31), Mahmudul Hasan (27), Mojahid Khan (27), Ashiq Sarkar (24), Hriday Sheikh (24) and Sohail Molla (25). Among them, Chanowa Kazi and Biplab Hossain have been remanded by the police for three days. The remaining five were sent to jail.
